People, Silent Hill: Homecoming wasn't that bad! In fact, I really enjoyed it. Of course it isn't nearly as good as SH2, but geez...you guys just hate it so much just because it's what it is. Maybe instead you should realize that the only thing that kills game series' are its fans.
Yes, it is actually that bad. It's a decent current-gen game, and it's good at being what it is, a current-gen game. The other games ascended to a level beyond the gaming world, which is the world of art. It's a multi media masterpiece, composed of great arists in all sectors. SH5 is a hollywood sumer blockbuster. Of course the music's great, but I don't play the game with my eyes closed, do I? I think Akira's just trying to be modest about his american co-workers...
Well last I saw the last Japanese Silent Hill was Silent Hill 4: The Room...and the only one actually developed by Akira Yamaoka. That one was also derided by fans, although I liked that one as well. And truthfully Silent Hill: Homecoming looked pretty good. I don't know what you were looking at when you were playing it...if you even did.
I know that, SH4 is on my top 3 SH games. If you mean by looking good that it was realistic and had good graphics, well, yes, but that's not what a SH game is about. The more I played, the more I wished it would end, that's how unatractive it was to explore the game. I guess different people like SH for different reasons. Those who simply enjoy a scary game and can't quite explain why they like it may like SHH, but I like the series for being an artistical masterpiece and this one isn't.
You're right about it not being an artistical masterpiece. That was the one flaw with the game in my opinion; that it just didn't have the flair of the original four. But it was certainly fun to play, with an enhanced combat system and easy movement. Besides, I've had experience with outright BAD horror games like Obscure, so whenever I play anything like Homecoming I think of how much better it is than Obscure is...which was an abomination of inhuman proportions.
the song at 2:00 in the back ground is amazing silent hill is just amazing games and movie its just so sureal but at the same time beautifull its just amazing
