Alfthechamp, that Chincha is not in the Andes is obvious. However, Soy Andina, the name of the documentary, refers to the protagonist of the film, Nelida Silva, who is from the Andes. The 3 clips I have up on this, are just that -- clips.

I purchased this DVD and was a little disappointed that much of the Chincha footage was edited out of the video. I was really looking forward to this part and didn't see much. Great documentary anyway.

Soy Andian es un documental que incluye una fiesta patronal andina atraves de un personajae. Y tambien incluye experiencias del otro personaje en la costa antes de ir al Ande (sus dias en Piura y Chincha) "Mayates" is not the correct term ... but i dont get angry at ignorance... i just hope you educatate yourself. There are dances en la Sierra that are totally influenced by the presence of African decendants. Just so you know...
