Nutro Dog Food Plant Protest

Protest against Mars Nutro dog food plant in Victorville CA on Feb 17, 2008. Mars Nutro has been stinking up the community for two years and residents' showed their frustration.

You're right, there are no plans to close the Nutro dog food plant. Mars did buy Nutro Products, but the company has retained it's Nutro name.

I agree with you on CA being a wacky, liberal state, but I don't know what you mean by somehow "you and your people" vote negatively on rickhorror's posts. Each person who visits gets one vote, not like some of the Democrat states where people can vote early and often. Why don't you have "you and your people" vote positively on rickhorror's post? Problem solved.

whats next having the train moved? the glass company? they pollute far more. or how about the business's on the corner of bear valley? they look ugly.. If you dont like big progress in a small town I suggest you move ,it's only going to get worse. I moved from SVL because it's a cheap knock off of a gated community.. in my opinion you should be worried about youre rotten lake and youre polluting wave runners and boats ,it smells without Nutro, in 10 years it will be another lake Elsinore.

SVL is the center of the world for me and I choose to protect my investment. It's NOT a matter of opinion whether Nutro is violating the law, since AQMD has issued a violation stating that they are. And it looks to me like we are winning, since Nutro is spending $10M to fix the problem by Dec 31, and will possibly be fined $10K per day as of last year, and will probably lose millions more from the hundreds of people that have sued them. Enough said? Seems to me like Nutro has lost.

The thing worried about the most is the extreme heat from the ovens and furnaces it destroys the atmosphere but you wouldnt know about that, it has nothing to do with youre property value...

You do understand that AQMD issued an air quality violation notice don't you? Nutro has agreed that they are in violation and that is why they are fixing it. We didn't issue the violation.

Mars has owned Nutro for several months now and we are still suffering from the dog food processing stench. I propose a protest of all Mars products. I'd rather breathe than eat an M & M.

My family and I have to endure the stench of this plant constantly. I can't believe the City of Victorville would allow a pet food PROCESSING plant to be built near thousands of homes. The residents lived here before the plant was built. We should be allowed to breathe! The city and the Air Quality Management District are not making Nutro follows the laws. We need help!NUTRO STINKS!

Interesting how you and your friends vote negatively on rickhorror's posts, but allow sbeckert's post to be seen. The video has a kid holding up a sign that says "Nutro is bad for kids". Nutro is pet food, I hope that parent isn't feeding that kid dog food. Bad parents in CA, wacky liberal state.
