@4SCARECROWS Does he like, skip to stand on it?

A friend of mine has a beagle mix. And it's about 14 years old. The back leg will jerk out from underneath frequently. Doe anyone know what that is, or is it some old age ailment.

I like The Civic

Please do not breed your dog! Do more research about hip scores etc and I think you will find that according to the breed standard your dog does not qualify as good breeding material. It would only be cruel to the puppies that she breeds and their owners to allow this dog to have litters. Please be responsible and DO NOT breed your dog.

LOL!! droped his ass back. ps: bastarden thinks pedigree is different to genetics.

Stop being a jackass, LookHere3....Even if you buy from a good breeder, you can get a sick dog because it's GENETICS involved!! What's the point of being so stupid?? Of course they had the surgery, what do you suggest? Time travelling??
Hip dysplasia can occur in any dog, you only make the risk smaller by buing from a good breeder with heatly dogs!

u spend thousands of dollars on surgery?? instead of buying the pup from a decent breeder where the pedigree never had any hip problems??
if they come from a really good pedigree they are not meant to hav any hip displaysia......especially not at 7months..wtf?

Exercise is important, and if your dog likes water that will be much easier on the joints. Your options are to not do the surgery and keep your dog on meds like pain killers and glucosamine, do the surgery if you can afford it and have the courage (it is very very hard), or put the dog to sleep if he no longer can enjoy being a dog. Those were the same options I faced.
Yeah and to be honest, Gary did come from a bad breeder. Not everyone knows the difference between a decent one and not...until something like this happens. So now I go out of my way to help prevent others from buying dogs from back yard breeders.
But even as Bastarden said, I have met plenty of people with dogs from great pedigrees that still end up with problems. Rottweilers in general have a pretty small gene pool unfortunately.
