Brainrotting EXTRAS: Scariest Bridge Crossing? - Crossing a Colombian bridge - Overland Motorcycling

This clip was shot in the South of Colombia after four days of torrential rain. I was riding from Tierradentro to San Agustin and had to cross this slippery and swaying bamboo bridge with my bike fully loaded because the regular road bridge had collapsed or washed away. The river water was a matter of inches beneath me, and I wasn't happy about making the crossing but some Colombians at the entrance to the bridge encouraged me to attempt it. I had the foresight to turn my helmet camera on!

I am spending a couple weeks motorcycling around Colombia this summer.

I am wondering where the bridge is located. Is it on the road heading down between Popayan and San Agustin or is it north of there going from Tierradentro and Popayan? I will be riding through the same areas in Colombia.

@nairbydennek The bridge was just after Tierradentro on the road towards San Agustin. I understand that it was temporary to replace a bridge that was washed away so I'm unsure if it's still there. It couldn't have been too far from here: N2 30.023 W75 58.037

I've just arrived in Colima, mexico and it's now only two weeks until I re-enter the U.S. I think I have about another 4 months of riding left in me. I'm glad you appreciated my moment of madness down in Colombia!

If you dropped the bike you highly likely would have lost your life too. You'd never swim with your motorbike gear on.

I would have done a 1000 mile detour to get round that.
