  • shot placement trumps caliber every day all day.

  • @NIKON777 Very true

  • i know this vid is old man, but i carried .40 for quite a while till a friend turned me over to some research that he had been doing. did you know that the .40 is derived from the 10mm? i didn't. the 10 was developed for law enforcement as an antipersonnel round. then they decided it was too much recoil for the weaker officers (really wish i was making that part up...) so they hacked the cartridge in half and the .40 was born. i now carry 10mm. same ammo capacity as well. thats the best of both!

  • @LeadSlinger89 Yup I have, since this video, been more educated on the .40 round. I still don't think its a poor round at all, but I am not so enamored with it anymore. I actually don't even own a pistol chambered in .40 right now...Thanks for watching and for your informative comment!

  • And nothing will tell you how a person will react when hit with a live round 9mm 380, 40, 45 what ever. I can tell you this that every shooting victim said the same thing after being hit and living to tell about it "Officer it hurts" how can a man shot with a 45 run a block get into his car and drive to the hospital, but a man hit with a 9mm is lying motionless in the street. It's where you shoot not what you shoot

  • @pol258 Very well said sir, I am in agreement with you! Thanks very much for sharing this insight!

  • Could'nt be said any better. I agree 100%. Keep those vids coming.

Hahaha...it took me a second to catch what you were saying but it gave me a good laugh. Have you tried getting into doing your own reloads? The initial investment and learning curve can be intimidating, but it really does save you butt loads of money and is just about as much fun as shooting the rounds you're making. Start casting your own lead bullets and you can shoot 9mm for damn near .01/round.

  • @LeadSlinger89

Amen, amen, amen. I love my G29...I originally bought the full size G20, pretty much just for the cool factor a 10mm had. I loved shooting it and giggled like a school girl every time that mule would kick on the range. Once I got used to it and learned about the 10mm and began handloading rounds just like I liked them, I realized I was more accurate with that than any other gun I owned. I bought the G29 and haven't carried another. Anyone who's never fired a 10 needs to!!!

  • @pol258 agreed, but a .25 or even 380 to the femur, you will probably live if you get medical help within an hour or so, a 40 or 45, you might not, it's a lot more trauma to get hit with a heavier round with a bigger cross section and higher speed, much more tissue damage, bone damage and crushed mass behind the impact point, a 45 crush area can be 6 inches across, a 380 might be 2.

  • picked up a xdm compact in 40, and fuck, even on sale the speer gold dot cost me 25 for 20 rounds, I didn't even get a reach around with the bumming I took

  • I think the 40 is the perfect caliber

  • Excellent choice. G23 & G27 are my favorite semi autos as well. God bless you, too.

  • @pol258 I agree & truly believe each person needs to be able to shoot several different manufacturers & calibers to make up your own mind. Don't forget the best "hit gun" for close quarters was a .22 rimfire at close range.IMHO.

I prefer hand cannons but that's just me. .40 cal on up.
