This is by way of a trial ...I have been playing around with this song for a couple of weeks but can,t make up my mind if I should bother to get it right or if I,m just wasting my time...any constructive advice/criticism would be gratefully accepted ...i realise the timing leaves a little to be desired and I fluffed the short instrumental bit in the middle (I can sort that easily) but just the overall thing ...I,m not sure if it feels right to me.....and you know what they say "if in doubt chuck it out"...but i really like the original of this and would like to get to a giggable level with it.....Thanks in anticipation... i don,t own any rights to this song or video ...all rights to the song are owned by Michael Chapman and his recording/publishing companies ...the images are various copyright free to be found in cyberspace.....And last but certainly not least a massive vote of thanks to Harry (Lansdownekid) for getting me up and running with the tuning tab etc and generally pointing me in the right direction...(so Thanks mate the help was greatly appreciated)

  • Thanks again Gus......I love the original of this song....I also love the guitar I played it on....1964 Gibson J50 .....I really struggled to get the vocal anywhere near to how I really wanted it to sound...but I guess most of us are never truly satisfied with our version of someone else,s song (mostly because we do too much comparing).....Kev

  • Nice and regarding the advice , just can say that didn't noticed any timing mishaps but let me tell you that guitar sounds excellent and very a- la Stills, real fine

    thumbs up : )

    y f gus : ) all cool no worries

  • @samkeziah Thanks Brian ... I haven,t seen Michael live for years but I,ve always liked his stuff...I look forward to hearing your version my friend...Kev

  • Hi Kev

Really like your version of his Chapman classic and the pictures conjure up the darkness of this piece.I`ve seen Mike play this many times live and he always plays it slightly different.

If you get the chance to see him live it`s well woth it....he`s just turned 70 a few days ago and still tours the uk /states and europe, check out his website for dates.

Hope to put my version up in the next few days.

    Cheers Mate

    Brian
