what you should do is to learn the fan. This way you can just fan out the cards infront of them and say "pick a card" then they'll subconsiosly be obligated to pick only the cards you showed them.

lolz probably never gonna happen, I mean, if your a spectator you want to put the card in the middle so that you "think" it will be harder for the magician to find it.
