John Chang's Western student: Interview with Jim McMillan of Mo Pai Nei Kung (1/4)

Jim McMillan speaks! Jim is a Western student of John Chang (The Magus of Java). For background (if you have not already read it) here is a previous published interview that Jim has done:

Jim has been gracious enough to grant a phone interview in which he reveals the current status of the Mo Pai school and lineage, what he has been up to lately in regards to Mo Pai and his travels and contact with the school, and the future- where he plans to go from here, and sage advice to any would-be practitioners and students of the internal Arts.

I think so many people missed the point. They all seem to be focus on 'Powers'.

@1NX9 that's exactly it, the 'powers' (or 'siddhis') are a natural *result* of the training, but not the entire point of it

There are good reasons for why these things are kept secret, especially from the western world. The philosophy of the west is deeply embedded in power and domination and thus most of those who seek to learn simply seek a means to oppress their neighbor in one way or another. They seek to aggrandise themselves with demonstrations, They seek to abuse this power. Untill the average western mind begins to truly seek peace and health and to assist his or her neighbor, these would remain secrets.

The Chinese had the most technically advanced culture for many centuries. But unlike the European countries, they didn't use it to invade and oppress the rest of the world.

@vinniemdbiz If it "should" be used for good, it "can" be used for evil. I don't care which is which, the point of life is to become more and better. If that means I go over what you consider to be acceptable behavior I couldn't care less. If I get the powers, I can use them how I see fit. If you want to stop me, you can learn to counter.

this student seems like john doesnt like him very much. he says he couldnt reach him at all so he just went there then john asked him how old he was, told him he had to go to the bank then went on a trip.

@WeberMan95 I Might be able to help you, i have been training in mo pai for quite a while now and i am seeing the results of my training, you can also check out yellow bamboo training system, and i have tons of videos to help work out the quirks on my youtube channel for the purpose of helping others because i went through the same things and i had a lot of the same questions

Hay does anyone know more on the subject of this training to bring you chi out? I'm very interested in learning the Mo Pai. I have read the books "the magus of java", and "Nei Kung" both by Kosta Danaos. I meditate an hour a day too which is the start of the training. But if anyone knows more I would great full if they told me.

Very astute. The fact that these powers can be attained should tell you something, namely that reality is not what we think it is. Consider modern science. Our level of technology is a reflection of our level of understanding. Like so, the powers are a reflection of one's awakening to what one really is, rather than them being ends in and of themselves. Neither are they necessary to that awakening.
