  • This video mentions all panels being wax injected to prevent rust - but these cars were still notorious for rust. And as far as I know, they are very rare now as most rotted away long ago...!

  • actually, the allegro was a very rustproof vehicle, the marina was the one known for rusting

  • Looks great in white.

  • allegro....the new rusting force from austin

  • @RoadCone411 Spain my friend as i had the fox866L and it was used for promoting BL

  • That was mine the front one FOX 866L,

  • i bought a 1977 1100cc this evening and its totally mint and rust free

  • @wackymacs All 70s car rusted, most of all VWs and GM products, the Allegro was one of the better of the bunch. Why does everyone have to "BL bash" all the time?

  • The Allegro was an extremely underrated car, always will be one of my favourites! ;)

  • In my home town here in Denmark there was a BL dealership, so I saw lots of these cars driving around in the 80's. Especially the estate version was popular.

  • well I order an orange one with black hat, when can you deliver?

  • @Skoda130 They were made in Belgium too I think, or at least a few. So it is likely a few would appear in the Netherlands from time to time. They actually imported some from Belgium to the UK from time to time, when things were difficult if I remember correctly. The Estate is fairly rare even on its home territory!

  • Electric fan takes no power from the engine? Well, surely *all* power comes from the engine at some point. Sneaky marketing men. Consumers of the early '70s clearly had no idea, since this car still sold pretty well ;)
