I've been trying this for a few minutes and I will admit that trying to find that fulcrum is driving me nuts! (My wrists have been getting a bit tired of late so I thought I would give this method a shot.) Problem is, my stick is sliding back towards the meaty part of my hand. Is he using the base knuckle at the bottom of the index finger because it looks like his index finger is sticking straight out?

@PhantomDrums917 He is using his middle finger, but it is also possible to do this with your index finger or even ring finger and pinky. The stick ís held lightly in your hand, so you have to practice what's the least amount of pressure required to still hold your stick in place in your hand, you can also search for "freehand technique", which is built around this concept.

@Merseydrummer I agree, Jojo has better long-run qualities, but for someone just starting i would reccomend Chapin :)

@ShaunDnBdrums I agree he teaches it better, I think Jojo's lesson of playing it RRRLLL will develop better technique though in the long run, it also teaches you the harder sticking pattern, it's good to play it using singles though too.

@4against1 honestly im not even going to get in a argument over what your saying , its actually hard to even take in what you are saying " old retards " .... buddy rich and jim chapin , that is disrespectful rude and generally disgusting and you quite clearly know very little about drums just by reading what people have said to you on here in the past and by saying he plays on books and towels , 1 its a practice pad and 2 some drummers tend to use towels and put pads on top of them
