1. ofcourse they do. why wouldnt they need to eat too?
2. mules can just just as high if not higher, we used to have amule breeding/ trainging farm and slim,if you tied him up on one side of the hitching post walk away and then you look back and your like wtf didnt i tie you on that side?
3. not necesarily no. but you should keep them trimed. they have small hooves like donkeys so its not totally necessary.

Yeah but it would be fun...it wouldn't matter to me if they were hard to ride! Also if you trained it to be good then it wouldn't be hard to ride. I think owning a mule would be fun, but some people have different opinions.
