My Guardian Angel *Chapter One: Part Two*

After lunch Taylor caught up with me before class started.

"Why wont you just go crawl under a bridge?!" she stormed at me.

"Umm cause youd miss me too much," I lied. We both knew she wouldnt really care if I ran away or was kidnapped.

She rolled her eyes. "Look, just because youre having some kind of mental breakdown, it doesnt mean you have to ruin my life!"

Then I rolled my eyes. "Im not having a mental breakdown."

"Then why do you care more about school than money? We already have money, all we need now is someone to live with for the rest of our lives and well be set."

I took a deep breath. "Look Tay, I-"

She cut me off. "Its Taylor to you. Not Tay. Tay is what the cool people are allowed to call me. Youre a geek."

I rolled my eyes again. "Fine, Look Taylor"

She nodded. "Better. Now make it snappy, I dont want to be seen near you for too long."

"Look Taylor, money is not the key to happiness. Its not the only thing thats worth something in life. Money is just something that keeps people from stealing too many things. And school is important for that reason. I dont want to be stuck in high school for the rest of my life waiting for someone to buy me out of it. I dont want to be stuck in this big city for the rest of my life. I want to travel, to see the world. On my own!"

Taylor didnt even seem to be listening to me at all. "Look geek, money is the key to life. It buys happiness. Love is just a myth someone created so that they could marry someone else for money. Thats what love actually is."

I looked at her like she was crazy. "Love is not about money. Our own grandparents had nothing when they met and they married. They were in love, and they still are. I bet when they die theyll still love each other, even in death." I sighed and turned around." I guess love is just a concept way too complicated for you." I walked away from her.

"Ugh!" I heard her say. "Just stay away from me dork!" I heard her feet hit the linoleum with a thud as she stormed off.

After school as I was starting to head towards my car, all of the students were huddled around it.

As I approached the crowd, I heard Taylor say, "Yes. I bought this with my own money. It may be ugly, but it gets me by when my awesome car breaks down. Which," She smirked I think, "It never does."

I rolled my eyes as I pushed through the crowd and pressed the unlock button on my key. "Taylor, just stop trying to embarrass me and go home. I actually dont want to drive you today."

She smirked as she got off the hood of my car. "I knew you would get embarrassed." Taylor walked away with her little ants following her.

"Thank God," I said to myself as I got in my drivers seat.

When I got home I threw my book bag down on the kitchen table and threw my keys in our stupid key bowl.

"Home so soon?" my mother asked.

"Yes mom. Something wrong with that?" I asked sarcastically.

"Yes. Dont you have any friends?"

"Umm no. Sense I refuse to use a lot of your money, people tend to stay away from me. Im fine with it." I grabbed a chip out of one of the opened Lays bags.

"You dont buy people?" she asked dumbstruck.

"No," I said slowly. "I dont want any fake friends unlike you guys." I started to walk away.

"Honey, we need to talk about your aversion to money," my mother said as she got up to stop me.

"No mom," I said, starting to go for my book bag. "I dont have an aversion to money. I hate it. I dont like money. It sickens me. I would be much happier if we were poor."
