@justkillintyme I agree. My TAG and other parrots are much happier and healthier than Alex was,. I beiieve their intentions were good, but it was too much pressure and stress and not enough natural play time..

just thought I'd add something here, I just finished the book irene wrote " Alex and me" and the reason Alex plucked was because there were some stages in his 30 years where times were hard, money was scarce and Irene couldn't be with him as long as he wanted... there were always students with him but he wanted Irene. they looked after him very well, better than most pet parrots.
