!! YOU TUBE CRIME WAVE !! This was the first successful TV run for Georges Simenon's Inspector Maigret that ran for four series of 13 episodes between 1960 and 1963. Georges Simenon himself adapted some first series episodes for BBC television. This is the final 50 minute episode of series 4. Although revived to great success by ITV in the early 90s with Michael Gambon in the lead role, the public still holds great affection for this version with Rupert Davies.
u gotta wonderas a lifelong profligate as he got his start as the alter boy of a homo priest...he saw in D himself, damaged goods by a psychotic belief system, but if u dumpster dive for people, dont expect to fix em

Just saw a documentary about the history of the character of Maigret, apparently he's been played by actors all around the world, there was even a Japanese version! Great to see this here, I know Davies from Quatermass 2, a very good actor.

Thank you for posting this episodic piece of TV. Although the B&W is faded, although the acting seems strange, it is still a excellent version of Simenons invention. I could smell the calvados! If you have more keep posting. You will make at least one old BBC TV fan happy.
