Installing a threshold trim piece to a hardwood floor will finish off your project. Which piece of trim will you be installing at your threshold of your hardwood floor? Decision time on which piece of trim to install at the threshold area of your hardwood floor will help tie in the overall project. There's lots of different types of trim to use at thresholds so pick wisely.....you want your hardwood floor to look the best it can. Watch as "joe" decides which trim to use at his hardwood flooring project, at the threshold.

  • @surfercarpenter09 Thanks for commenting. Good luck with your project. Joe :0

  • WOW, GREAT VIDEO. I LEARNED A LOT

    lol

  • @szlagjasny You're right! The white finished threshold trim did fade a little, over time. The trim was white & was finished in a slick shiny surface. I thought it would keep its shine but it didn't last long. I was hoping not to have to paint it but it will, in fact, need to be painted. Good call!!...lol Thanks for the suggestion. & thanks again for commenting so any other viewers would read the comment area will benefit from your comments. Joe :0

  • this trim will yellow , just get a quart of semi gloss paint , caulk the same color

and apply some caulk-adhesive and put some heavy objects to help keep it in place

like books , but do paint it

  • @SMSFWM Actually the trim "joe" used is white all the way through almost like a plastic material. It looked like it had a finish on it as it was slick to the touch not like pre-primered wood or anything. "Joe" installed this trim awhile ago & it has marked up more-so than "joe" would've thought so it probably would be a good idea to paint this type of trim before installing. Thanks for your comments & keep watching "joe". The more you watch, the more you know! :0

  • i think the trim peice is likely just pre-primed and will pick up stains easilly unless finished, especially since it is on the floor and at a doorway.
