Tony Blair led the Labour Party out of the political wilderness: he oversaw a decade of economic growth and led Britain into war in Iraq. Inside Downing Street he relied on a political machine that was centralised and more presidential than any seen before. Alistair Campbell was at the heart of that machine, honing and controlling it. Now he's publicised a carefully edited diary of his years by Blair's side. What does it tell us about the state of our political culture?
Alistair Campbell is refreshingly straightforward compared to many other politicians. He hasn't done anything wrong, it's just stupid people jumping on the bandwagon of blame for the Iraq war..... simple.
Agree about the reptilian hologram machine though.
