A rainy Monsoon day at Camp Casey. A good shot of the 2 ID flagpole and shield. I like Camp Casey as it is mostly tree covered hills happily missing the sounds of the big city, Seoul. I will also come back here and get video when the snow arrives. Like Camp Stanley, it is quite a sight in white.

  • I spent one of the best years of my life there in 1964 in the 7ID

None of you would believe what it was like in those days. Memories.

    Thanks for posting this.

  • Glad you enjoyed it! I mentioned in the description I planned to go back up and get video of the hills covered in snow...little did I realize there was no way to drive up there when it was snowing (or after). My video from the 5th of Jan shows what I mean.

  • You did this video on my last day at Camp Casey. Did a one year unaccomapied tour and lived in Bldg 691. One of the docs at the TMC on the hill. Glad I'm gone, but good memories

  • Rained when you left, talk about poetic. Yeah, I am glad we have the chance to experience Korea, though it will be good to PCS out when my tour is up in 2012. Hopefully back to Europe.

  • I was there when you did this video..lol the day before I got married. Brings back memories

  • Hopefully good ones! (Monsoon rains and all)

  • Oh yeah almost forget BULLDOGS Represent!!!!

  • Was here from 99-00, camp Hovey and that was the hardest Ive worked in all my military life nothing compares to this place, the work pace and the weather. This place to me was a love/hate feeling, loved that ive been there hate to go back lol.

  • I'll never forget raising that flag in 1995 when it was -30. What a memory. C 503 Inf was on honey when I was there and we ran that route every morning to the flag for pt.

  • well im about to be stationed here in 2 months... I looked on Youtube to find out what i was about to get into over there and the guy says "Well I wouldnt want to be young and 22 here..." Im about to turn 22 right before i go.. FML!

  • Good grief at the memories! Thanks for posting! I was there in 5/5 ADA from November 1991 to November 1992. I used to run on my own every other day from my barracks through Camp Casey, on around through Hovey, out the back gate, up that big ass hill, around to the main gate and back to the barracks. I think it was a 5 or 6 mile run. I miss a lot of things about my tour there, but I don't miss those monthly alerts! :o)

  • I had know idea where you was at until I seen you hit the wtc. only went to hovey once and never got to go to tokory or however you spell it

  • I was in A Company 1st Battalian 38th Infantry at Camp Hovey in 1975 and 1976. I definitely remember that flag pole. We had to run from Camp Hovey to Camp Casey and back nearly every day. The flag pole is where we turned around to go back. Some days though we ran past the flag pole and out the front gate through Tongduchon and around through Tokori before we finally returned to Camp Hovey. I remember the honey wagons well.
