A little video i made for Media studies. Its a tribute to my favourite cinematographer, Christopher Doyle.

*NOTE: theres a WKW tribute on youtube which is very similar to mine... just fyi i made this in 2005!

  • The cinematographer works with the director to come up with the visual look for the film. It's not necessarily one or the other that chooses the shots; it's a collaborative process. For example, the director might have an idea for how he/she wants to shoot a particular scene/shot. The cinematographer gives their input on each aspect (lighting, lens choice, composition, etc.) and the director approves or makes changes or whatever. In general, the cinematographer is the "photographer" of the film.
