Because Yian Garuga makes you do it twice.

Grab whatever supplies you want, and head off to area 2, kill everything in sight. Head to area 3, slaughter whatever comes your way and advance forward. Head to area 4, then 5. Clear it out. Make your way to area 6, then 2, then 3, then to 9, empty the place out. Be careful though, you may run into a Rathalos here, if so just ignore him. Head to area 8, to clear some more Velociprey, then to area 10 to finish off the last 2.

Yes, I realized I copied and pasted from the last "Slay the Velociprey Pack!" video, there's really no difference between the quests except for Yian Garuga being replaced by Rathalos.
