Oklahoma Medley was the first "more sophisticated" music that Willie Erickson taught me when we were performing at the original Shakey's Pizza Parlor in Sacramento. We also played what we called: Excerpts from Carmen. At least once a week a big part of the music department from the State College would come in and ask for Carmen, Beethoven's Fifth and others. It was quite a compliment!
Every one of these arrangements starts with the "solo", then the "tune-up", then 20 or more minutes of instruction. It's like a regular lesson. I show it to you very slowly, with close-ups, a few measures at a time, ending with an accompanyment track for you to practice with. Go to: plectrumbanjolessons.com, click on "Arrangements" if you would like to learn this arrangement. Any questions? Email me: donvanpalta2005@yahoo.com
