is he smoking? federal law states that no smoking articles r 2 b underground. violators r charged with a class 6 felony and a $250 state fine and $250 federal fine for each article. so if you bring a pack of cigarettes down that just has 1 cigarette in it and you have a lighter you get charged with 3 smokers articles. 1 for the single cigarette. 1 for the pack it was in and 1 for the lighter. plus $500 fine state/federal for each article. thats in any underground mines. becuz risk of methane gas

miner is a miner no matter where u r coal mine gold mine everything's the same

To all the coal miners, I'm a hard rock miner, repair department, I am a "jack of all trades" down below, I and my crew can run motors or jacklegs, roof bolters, muckers and the like. I can tell you since I've worked coal a couple times along with uranium, moly, gold/silver and have been working copper for sometime now, that if one of you coal boys went to my work area to tap a chute, you probably couldnt do it because things are way different, also I'd like you to come down here to Arizona and

@denis551988 I did not realise you replied to me..hit reply button!
When I worked underground in copper and gold and nickel mines in Australia in '70s and '80s we worked by ourselves on airlegs (jacklegs). It was very hard especially when starting a hole in difficult position. Everything we did by ourselves, drilling, charging, mucking etc. Also could be dangerous because shiftboss only comes around two times a shift. But that is how we did it and I didn't mind.

Coal Miners never lasted a shift in Development work, they are used to the easy life
