@xosammiebabexo Masonic initiation rituals. There's a catalog from a supplier of these scanned online somewhere. The initiations were usually overgrown version of frat stuff, silly and crazy stunts. So companies built things like electric chairs and other dangerous devices, and the prospective members would be blindfolded and all sorts of gags used to imitate harm without doing any. It was, in essence, a source of laughs for the members. None of it was actually dangerous.
