  • Do you cut the male joint from the reverse side ie upside down?

  • The male joint is marked out in a way that allows the router cutter to enter the worktop at the postformed edge (front edge) and exit out of the back edge.

  • Whats all that measuring whith a pair of compassess about get a modern jig chap save yourself all that bother. When the eliptic curve was cut on the breakfest bar how was the formica saved on exit side from ripping off chip board?

  • Using a pair of compasses is a technique that has nothing to do with using an old jig or a modern one.

On the breakfast bar worktop the curve is cut right through for three quarters of the way around and flipped over and finished off.

  • My measuring tape has millimeters on it i just measure in 8mm fuck the half and it comes out right everytime. Compasses move.

  • I like the way you placed tape on the worktop to stop marking the surface itself AND so you could see the line! I will use that trick ole chap!!

  • very helpful tip. Thanks
