@MagiDrummer In professional drums schools, they'll teach to you rim shot the snare to give a stronger back beat. (I know you left this a year ago, but in case you haven't heard anything, haha :D)

@bouncingpogostick No it means muffling the drum, compressing the sound, typically to get rid of overtones or unwanted decay. Some heads come with built-in dampening rings.

I always thought the more tension the better the sound......I used to think of my self as semi pro. Now I have rerated my self as professional amateur.

hey bob,
do you have any idea why my snare wires are loosening all by themselfes while I'm playing? You can actually see how the tensioning knob(or this turn thingy however you call it xD) turn while playing. it's a pretty knew snaredrum and i have no idea why this happens. I actually started to put a piece of tape on it so it can't move anymore. I didn't overtighten the wires they are actually pretty loose. Thanks for your help on all your videos. regards from Germany
