Live scale steam locomotives at arguably the nicest private track in California. These are mostly 2 1/2" scale and 3 3/4" scale.

These engines run on oil, coal and propane.

  • How big is the BCW spread? It sure looks impressive for a a private operation - not to mention expensive! Does an owner generously share his empire with others or is it a private club?

  • @carmium 7 1/2 acres, with three complete loops folded in and around each other, so it takes about 20 mins to go around one lap. It's private and not a club, just a benevolent dictatorship. :) Works real well when the 'dictator' is a very nice person. It's mostly private for railroaders only, but every year there's at least one fundraiser for the San Luis Obispo Railroad Museum and that's the best time for the general public to come and get a ride. See the home page for more info.

  • I have to compliment you on a entertaining and well put together video. I work full time as a commuter engineer and part time as a video producer and truly enjoyed the video. Would love to someday get into live steaming. Even though i spend the day in a diesel dog, I think this would be a rather interesting (and entertaining) hobby. Thanks for the cool video. !

  • There are several current and retired diesel engineers that I know of in the hobby...they just can't get enough of it!

  • I truly enjoyed watching your video even though I fly RC planes myself, I can fully appreciate the effort that goes into your hobby.
