Very interesting to read all the back & forth about fixies.
I can't quite buy that reduced maintenance alone justifies riding brakeless.
One fixie rider told me the added danger makes him more aware of his surroundings, making him safer.
Of course by that logic he should ride eyes closed.
So what's so wrong with following a fad?
Anything that promotes enjoyment of cycling is fine with me.
And some of the fixie riders I've seen can do shit I would never try!
