  • This was truly a pleasure to watch. Thank you!

  • Thank you so much for posting this film! It is a treat to behold. I wrote a biography of Lois Moran, who appears here at the 7:20 point, entitled "A Beautiful Fairy Tale: The Life of Actress Lois Moran," in which I discuss Ralph Barton and this film. Thanks again for posting this. Cheers! Richard Buller, Van Nuys, California.

  • This vibrant slice of 1920's ambiance shows figures still of interest today: Theodore Dreiser, Sherwood Anderson, Alfred Knopf, Clarence Darrow, Mencken, Lois Moran (Fitzgerald's inspiration for Rosemary in _Tender is the Night_), Sinclair Lewis, Robeson, Somerset Maugham, and so on. The succession of cameos may do no more than affirm the pleasure of boozing, but it's a festival of fun and satire. Charlie Chaplin is charming with sticks. The decade comes alive! One steps into the past!
