Thank you RJV for this fine example of a great tenor man playing a slow blues, very evocative of a dimly lit basement club. Takes me back.

Illinois is one of the great tenor players who I feel are not recognized and appreciated by a lot of the younger musicians these days. He has been one of favorites for a long, long time.....talk 'bout soul! My man tells a story with that horn.
He's like a Baptist preacher with an instrument. Every note means something. We all know about Coltrane, Rollins, Getz & Hawkins but please don't forget about Jacquet.
