Rahman is setting up a music conservatory called the K M Music Conservatory near his studio in Kodambakkam, Chennai, to nurture talented musicians.
The K M Music Conservatory will train aspiring musicians in all genres—vocal, instrumental, classical or fusion—and make them good enough to perform with any orchestra internationally.
கே.எம்.இசைக் காப்பகம் எனும் பெயரில் இசைக் கல்லூரி ஆரம்பிக்கப்பட உள்ளது. இந்தக் கல்லூரியில், உலகப் புகழ்பெற்ற ஆப்பிள் நிறுவனத்தின் அங்கீகாரம் பெற்ற ஆடியோ மீடியா கல்விக் கழகத்துடன் இணைந்து இந்திய இசை, மேற்கத்திய இசை மற்றும் இசை தொழில்நுட்பம் பற்றி பயிற்சி அளிக்கப்படும். பயிற்சி ஜூன் மாதம் முதல் துவக்கப்படும். இப்பயிற்சியில் சேர வயது வரம்பு கிடையாது. 60 வயதில் கூட இந்த இசைக் கல்லூரியில் சேரலாம்
