@christy725 He couldn't kill her for that. But I wouldn't be shocked if she was "a heretic" all of a sudden.

@LadyofCleves65 Going against the King IS treason. He could have easily had her killed.
-
@christy725 Probably not. Catherine Parr would not be killed for refusing the King only for treason against the King.

@lovelystrings but the whole thing is...UH..Faithfull ness..I guess they didnt have that BACK IN THAT ERA!
-
@UniqueMonique513 That is a very harsh opinion and if you think about it, adultry was a crime (Just see Katherine Howard). If she had other relations while married, especially to Henry, she would have been beheaded as well
-
@UniqueMonique513 excuse me? Borough died, Latimer died, then Henry died, and in her 4th marriage to Thomas SHE died! She was widowed 3 times -- she didn't divorce them! This is NOT Sir Edward Borough -- it is her second husband, Lord Latimer. The Tudors over dramatized this -- there is no historical evidence that Kat Parr had relations with Seymour before Latimer died. She wasn't like that!
-
YEAH!! You got her facts right about Edward Borough!! Thank you SO much!

Catherine a hoe..she dont know if she still wanna stay with Borough knowin he dying or either Mary the King or the Baron..B! Pick one.

@christy725 I don't know if he would have gone that far; but she would likely have lost all her property at the very least.
When Catherine went to see Henry, she had no idea she was going in for a job interview, and she passed with flying colors.

Catherine Parr certainly had a right to be afraid of Henry. I wonder what would have happened if she had told the king she wasn't interested. Would she have been killed?
