This is Vlog #1 from Paul Del Vecchio. It covers features of Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 that I like and dislike. I compare Premiere CS4 to Avid Media Composer and Sony Vegas. I cover track targeting, sequence settings, moving tracks, and moving clips in the timeline.

  • Great video, but just wondering. What would you say is the best editing software out there right now? I have pinnacle right now and I want to upgrade to a more powerful software. Price is no object. Thanks!

  • They all pretty much do the same thing. There is no "best" one unfortunately. It's really hard to say. It's really a matter of preference but the two most commonly used are Final Cut Studio and Avid. I love Premiere also but Final Cut and Avid are the two most used ones (I believe) when it comes to professional work. It's just a matter of preference.

  • Nice! Very very Good!

  • Thanks so much! I'm glad you like it!

  • Vegas is so UGLY but ververyvery simple editing , premiere is hard but good design and workspace..

  • Premiere isn't as hard as you might think though. It's got some really nice tools too. I agree with you though, Vegas isn't the best looking app out there, but it's powerful and it's pretty damn sweet.

  • i have to say, adobe premiere cs4 is a beautiful program, but vegas can do so much more premiere cant. like make intros, mask, all kinds of stuff. if premiere could do that, i would go with it.

  • what i hate about Pr is when u wont to move clips around when they accidently go over other clips the clip that gets over layed is wiped out. -_-

Now please tell me this dosent bother u

i am just testing with Pr. im a Vegas user i was raised by vegas. XD

  • Premiere is dog slow.

  • thank you.

  • One problem I have with Premiere is that once you move over another clip it removes it.

I am mainly a Vegas user because of Premiere's shifty compatibility, stability and performance. Also I think the fade/transitions in Vegas is more handy I think. Cause you can like drag one clip over another and you have a fade. ;)

And yes, dragging the tracks around is awesome - I do it all the time.

    Great video overall!

  • It doesn't bother me; If you lock audio layers you can prevent this.

  • that's just because the program has moved slowly because you've added alot of effects or many clips. nothings wrong with it, though it may be annoying, you will see if you export and watch the hole video from your documents, it runs fine.

  • But Avid is picky as hell as to what it will run on. My dad bought an Nvidea GTX 260 just for Avid and an autodesk bundle. Most of the autodesk stuff works fine, but Avid isn't even compatible with the card! It's compatible with a cart that's not even as GOOD as the one we have. It may work with you if you decide to get it, but I wouldn't chance it.

  • ....when i play my vids in adobe premiere, it plays slowly for some reason.

  • i use adobe premier cs4 and i have a problem with my videos.

Everytime i export them out into AVI or anykind of format my video won't run smoothly.

When i play my video, the movement of the person would flicker and stutter and jerks a lot.

Like the person is moving like a robot. o.O

beside that it makes me dizzy wen watching the video that i exported it out. Idk if it's my computer that causes the video to not run smoothly or it's the programs......i need help.
