Classic Game Room HD reviews SUPER MARIO BROS. for NES Nintendo Entertainment System from 1985, the game that changed the world! (even more than Cosmic Carnage) The iconic Super Mario Brothers is the video game which helped to life the video game industry out of the funk in the mid 1980's. It blew away the minds of countless kids in the 80's who immediately wanted a Nintendo to replace their aging Atari 2600 (boo!). The game was so remarkably well made and different from the vast majority of other home console adventure games back in the day. Awesome music, Japanese style and puffy clouds, mushrooms and flying turtles. Super Mario Brothers was the must play game in its day. This CGR review of Super Mario Bros. on NES has gameplay from Super Mario Brothers showing one and two player game play from Nintendo's amazing 2D sidescrolling adventure. Super Mario Bros. is available today on Nintendo Wii Virtual Console and other Nintendo platforms.

  • I'll take Super Mario Bros. and NES over COD anyday

  • My 25 year old NES is still alive and kicking. All original too, no replacement parts. Almost every game works on the first shot. Kinda funny how 360s and PS3s nowadays have a bad rep for breaking and my NES just keeps going and going and going...

  • @Nightyoshi12 I'd take a diarrhea shit in my own underwear over COD anyday.

  • @seangreag Tortoise! Turtles Have flippers and swim! Tortoise walk! If a Tortoise finds god and becomes an evangelist, It's still a Tortoise! Brown shell, green or green with wings, if you see a tortoise with Jaundice more than likely it has been brainwashed into being a Koopa Trooper and it won't come back to life 38 seconds after you jump on it!

  • Inspired by Atari? On par with Pac Man? I had a Spectrum. Loads of games by independents for £1.99 Including the Ultimate Play The Game (RARE) Classics like Attic Attac, Firelord, Jetpac,Uridium. fantastic stuff! Atari was all just green an purple blobs shooting at each other!

  • my xbox is in repair so my nes is my console right now. super awesome

  • @Nightyoshi12 er...no

  • @InecomCompany The guys in shells are not turtles they're Koopa Troopas

  • @someguy74656 sweet same with my n64 when i was about 5 in 1999 with mario kart 64 still works =D

  • really well made review

  • @RemorselessRogue I never thought about that, to be honest. From now on I will refer to it as the "North American" Video Game crash....

  • @someguy74656 These old consoles were built like tanks - you could accidently let them fall from a considerable height and it won't even have a dent on it. Whilst new consoles would part in a million pieces and cost half the price of the console to repair it.
