June 19, 2006: Cam Ward stopped 22 of 23 shots in Carolina's 3-1 win over Edmonton in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final, capping one of the finest rookie goaltending performances in Playoffs history. Ward, who made his first Playoffs start with the Hurricanes trailing Montreal 2-0 in their first-round series, went on to post a 15-8 record and became just the fourth rookie to capture the Conn Smythe Trophy as Playoffs MVP.
