The Doors at San Jose Festival 1968 [rare footage]

Sun. May 19th: Northern California Folk-Rock Festival - Family Park, Santa Clara County Fairgrounds - San Jose, CA

The Doors are scheduled to close this two-day event with a one hour set at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday. They come onto the stage after a long day of music and at least ten other bands had played before them. The crowd was a little tired and the band playing in the middle of the afternoon made for a less than outstanding performance that just wasn't received with much enthusiasm. Also performing during the two-day event: The Grateful Dead; The Animals; Big Brother and The Holding Company; the Youngbloods; the Electric Flag; Jefferson Airplane; Kaleidoscope; Country Joe and the Fish; Taj Mahal; and many other lesser known bands.

@1970Frenzy Yes, I saw. The proper thing to do, would have been to ask FIRST, not after the fact. I spent a small fortune cleaning up and remastering that film strip. I also had quite a battle with the Doors manager over it, and I risked a lawsuit in releasing it raw. What's done is done, but my point stands: All but the first minute of "your" video is my work, and it would have been nice had you asked me first. Did you get permission from the author of the first 60 seconds? What's done is done.

@MacBruce1 I just wanted people see it. I think this is your goal too. I'm grateful to you for life because you filmed The Doors and shared your vid, believe me. Sorry for any problem. I'm a huge Doors fan, I've also synced silent clips with proper audio just for the fans and for myself too. Music is freedom. Break on through. Peace.

My parents took me to this show. I was 9. I think it was maybe $2 to get in. Janis w/Big Brother, the Jefferson Airplane. I remember the Doors doing Back Door Man. My mom used to play their first album all the time.
