The 5th Annual Chicago Walk Now for Autism Kick-off was a rousing success, attracting 275 supporters to the Westin O'Hare in Rosemont, Ill., on Friday, February 29, 2008.

Autism Speaks co-founders Bob and Suzanne Wright addressed the crowd, touching upon the organizations many accomplishments of 2007, the upcoming year's walk goals, World Autism Awareness Day, and Autism Speaks' partnership with the Shafallah Center. Chicago Walk Chair Lee Jorwic spoke about the importance of fundraising.

In 2007, the Chicago chapter raised over $2 million dollars through numerous fundraising events, including the walk. The 2008 Walk is scheduled for Sunday, May 18, 2008 at Soldier Field in Chicago. Visit the Chicago Walk site or visit the Walk Now for Autism site to find a walk in
