As the world goes through a 'century of crisis', scientist and author Tim Flannery is mounting what he calls 'an argument for hope'. It's the key theme of Flannery's 17th book, Here on Earth, which charts a history of life on our planet.

Tim Flannery is an egotistical self proclaimed expert on absolutely everything. However he has no formal qualifications in Climate Science, he has a doctorate in Palaeontology. He is a loon and you are a fucking sheep.

Tim Flannery lost me several years ago when he was going on about cities like Melbourne and Brisbane running out of water due to lack of good enough rainfall to fill the dams. Indeed, he went on about the dams never being full again.
All very well and good, at the time, due to the drought. But he never once balanced any of these comments by stating that, as history tells us, the longer the drought goes on the more likely it is that the rains will return. Look at the water level in the dams NOW.

You got me there with the capital letter. Maybe if you re-read what I wrote but imagine a sarcastic tone when you do so, you might get it. I don't really understand on what basis you are accusing him of 'ranting total rubbish'. Are you a meteorologist? Have you had any experience in climate science? Have you read any books about ecology or ever been exposed to ideas about the inter-connectedness of everything around us? Do you actually understand the premise of climate change?
