This makes me sad for some reason. Although these "concrete doughnuts" were boring, I find the new HOK/Populous parks just as bad. Although they have way more character, they're all there is now. I can't tell the difference between Comerica and Jacobs or Oriole Park and Citizen's Bank. They should have kept at least one of those domes, just for a little variety.

i remember watching this, i live two hours away from seattle and used to go the kingdome when i was just a little shit

a weird but funny memory of the king dome.....they had several giant "firework" sticks hanging from the ceiling....when the Mariners hit a homer, these went off.....there were usually at least a few birds (seagulls or other birds) flying around close to the roof....when a hometeam homer was hit....."BOOM"!! the sticks went off and big FIREWORK explosions occured...and these birds would swoop erratically like dive bombers and sway around crazily until they regained their balance from shell shock!
