Windows Vista SideShow enables external notebook displays, PDAs, or simply anything with an display and some MS stuff to show VIsta cotext information - calendar, mails, pictures, or remote control of Vista PC.
This video shows Sideshow on an lid display on notebook.
but why? what actually it does? does it enable ubiquitous display of information from whatever sources to whatever display format? what makes it an integrated appendage spec of windows? doesn't it just increase complexities onto an already too complex system.

you are the fool here...you can listen do music...and it saves your battery...you don't need to turn the laptop on... sideshow is a gr8 idea... i only wish apple could keep up with windows hardware (having a better OS is not enough when their computers suck a lot!!!!)

I think it's stupid idea...
Laptops nowadays will boot and ready in less than 1 minute (unless probably if it runs Vista). If I really need quick access in small screen, I think I will stick to PDA-Phone.
Now apparently MS is upping it's effort for total monopoly, not only on softwares but also on hardware. Foolishness...
