Country music pioneer Ferlin Husky has died at age 85. He sold more than 20 million records, mostly in the '50s and early '60s, with hits including "Wings of a Dove" and "gone." (March 17)
Ferlin Husky and I worked on a cruise in the early 90’s. He routinely sent raw fish to my cabin, and denied doing it. He’d always blame it on his wife Mavis. I have many fond memories of traveling on the road with him. He was an amazing person and musician with lots of talents. He will be sorely missed.
About 2 yes ago I got a cat. Not much on cats but I did for the family on one condition, that I get to name it. Without any other discussion our new family cat was named Ferlin, after the late and great!! He'll be missed but live on through his music!!!!

He was a wonderful and great singer. He would have liked the following quote about his life, "now you've GONE"
God bless

I grew up listing to this guy in my '53 Plymouth. All the great ones are leaving us.
