  • Billy Mitchell's daughter is on here from eastenders about a minute or so in just after he explains about white spirits

  • I'd wish Rolf would of been my art teacher at high school or college

  • this is brilliant. he's 80 years old in this clip and has more energy than any art teacher I've met.

  • @sammipat101 But some of them DID really appreciate it. And isn't that a success? If even just ONE of those kids has an experience that will possibly change the rest of their life? Then that one person might go on to positively influence countless others.

  • Re Ronnies painting, interesting to me how Rolf knows it is going to look good from further away before he even starts walking. Whenever I would stand back from my stuff it never looked any better than close up. One of the magic things about real artists seems to be working close to the canvas on a piece that only comes to life 6 feet further back.

  • These reprobates do not deserve a lesson from this highly distinguished teacher.

  • "It's a bit more like it than what it was like a while ago"

14/15 words that will always spur me on from now.

  • Rolf keeps a vigilant eye on my work every night. I usually have an episode of Rolf on Art playing on video in the corner of the room while I paint, they're episodes I've seen countless times before but just to catch a glimpse of Rolf painting with passion inspires me with my own projects. At the end of the night I jokingly lift the canvas off the easel and show it to the TV and say "Well Rolf what do you think?" and imagine he's smiling in approval.
