@sher3394 I've seen worse things then that

I think the law should be changed, to allow a family member of the crime victim, to select the means of the criminals death, and be the executioner if they so desire. his sniveling and begging would only anger me more ,as I bullwhipped ever scrap of flesh from his body!

Do you Americans still execute your prisoners?

I can't feel any pity for Sean Penn's character, or Sean Penn himself

@supersymbiotic This guy died with his eyes opened. Why is it that when people die by lethal injection their eyes stay open? That looks scary!!

@swcoast The death penalty does not solve anything. It only makes things worst and it doesn't really change anything because your loved one is still gone. Crime is not acceptable and neither is the death penalty. I lost my aunt who died at the Happy Land Club fire in Bronx New York on March 25, 1990. The fire at Happy Land Club killed 87 people in total and my aunt was in that club. The person responsible for this crime was sentenced to life in prison.

@swcoast Well you know what I agree that crime must be punished which is understable. But let tell you something. My cousin lost her brother to somebody who shot him to death and even though my cousin was very hurt by what happened to her brother she still forgave the murderer himself. She was very angry with the murderer but she left it up to God. I am against the death penalty because it only promotes violence.

@azar78345able Regardless of the mental stability of her murderer. If you were her family, tell me you wouldn't want him to suffer the same fate! You may be a pacifist and claim you wouldn't, but can we really blame the vast majority that would? I definitely don't think we can. It's a wrong punishment from a moral point of view, and I don't think anyone can argue against that, but I think people understandably are willing to look past that because the crime itself is very immoral. You know?
-
@azar78345able Yeah, from a moral point of view the death penalty is wrong. But since the crime didn't follow any moral values, why should the punishment? Nowadays you have more protection for criminals that rights for victims. It's because of 'human rights' that we live in a society where anythign goes. An old woman was beheaded in broad daylight in Spain the other week. It was unprovoked.
My First cousin was executed; it took him 21 minutes to die. They said he started having convolutions and his lips turned blue. My heart is broken for everyone involved. The law s not always right.

Bullsh*t. You're against the death penalty until that's YOUR girlfriend/wife/sister/daughter on the ground being brutalized like that or your boyfriend/husband/son/brother getting shot in the head after being forced to watch. This movie was pretty well-balanced. I couldn't help but feel absolutely NO pity for Sean Penn's character.
