The lighthouse Man ~ acoustic folk song (original)

Hi folks,
Heres a song i wrote and recorded in 2009.Its a story of a man and his daughter who live in a lighthouse and the perils that follow.Hehehe check me out no beard :D

A young inexpirienced man had a dream
That he'd watch all the boats that came in from the sea
And the chance that he wished for was soon meant to be
When the old mullen lighthouse required a new keep

And he looked at his little girl "Grace would you be,
The daughter of a lighthouse man watching the sea"
she looked in his dream blue eyes,told him aloud
"If mother was watching i know shed be proud"
Shed be proud....

Now many new seasons had now come to pass
And the little girl gracy had grown to a lass
Working the fishing boats no two sailed the same
But she trusted the bright light of her fathers flame

And many a sailor had followed that light
Guiding them safely from the perils of night
Back to the harbour to wifes filled with fear
To celebrate the catch with their tankards of beer
Of beer....

One night the sea grew mad,with the pull of the moon
And the waves swelled victorious encouraged by doom
And the livid wind blew strong,breaking the glass
And knocked out the flame that was guiding his lass

And she looked for her fathers light,where could it be?
As she battled the torrid waves that drowned out her pleas
Blinded by darkness her sight use no more
When the bow of her boat hit the rocks of the shore....

Her father leapt the corkscrew stairs,down to the floor
And raced out the lighthouse and down to the shore
And their lay his pretty girl,no motion to breathe
Her long auburn hair washed by waves of the sea

He looked to the skies,"please lord show her the light,
That ive failed to show her and guide her tonight"
He held her hand softly,and started to cry
When from his little gracy he heard the sigh
Daddy....
