Sprint iPhone 4S Comes Unlocked

The Sprint iPhone 4S comes unlocked out of the box. Using a foreign SIM card (prepaid card from the UAE's DU cut into a microSIM) the phone is able to roam on T-Mobile in the US.

There is no option anywhere to manually enable or disable the CDMA radio, and this seems to happen automatically when a foreign SIM card is inserted. With no SIM card OR the Sprint SIM card, the phone will connect to Sprint's CDMA network

Update: US SIM cards do not work. Phone goes into unactivated state and complains about invalid SIM card. http://twitpic.com/70up2c

@abdulali84 No idea. Without a jailbreak we will not know, as the phone will probably not work and will be stuck at the activation screen.

@techguy0711 Question bud: I have an AT&T iPhone 4S and im traveling to Mexico pretty soon. I purchased a prepaid TELCEL microSIM, I will be able to just put it in while in Mexico, and it should work, correct? Just follow this glitch with the 'carrier' setting correct? Will TELCEL show up and not tMobile/AT&T since ill be in Mexico? Thanks!

That's not possible. iPhone 4's and 4S's don't have SIM card solts on the side. They don't even have a SIM because it is not a worldwide phone.

@adalidfuentes1988 yes it works with foreign sim cards, i tried it with Digitel GSM, Movistar, and Telcell and they all work with 3G and with carrier selection and apn editing, but modem firmware changes.

I have a Sprint 4S that works with my H2O Sim and AT&T SIm but with Sprint SIM or T-Mobile it goes in to deactivated mode.
