What the clip refers to is a diversity. Fact is that they should be making sure that both food and medicinal plants are also returned to the growing cycle. Just to make sure the plants being used won't be reducing the growth of such.

The problem with using hemp in many places is that it can outgrow native vegetation, and become a noxious weed.

A "Profit before people" philosophy has allowed multinational conglomerates to pollute the environment and destroy natural resources. At least this is a step in the right direction, although they should have been replacing used resources from the outset.

Yes, hemp would prevent soil erosion and assist with water retention. There's a similar crop, jute, which is used as a substitute for hemp products (eg, rope), but it does not have the environmental advantages of hemp.

Of course, it would have been better to leave the environment alone from the outset, but industrialization and greed prevented that from occurring.

Seriously, If we would just grow hemp as an industrial crop, it would take care of a lot of needs, and lower our consumption of trees and cotton, and possibly oil.

Less than seventy years ago Hemp was meeting many of the stated goals mentioned in this clip. The fellow in the film said, It is going to take seventy more years to get to where we need to be.

I think he is wrong. Maybe the internet wasn't well developed during the filming of this clip. But finding the true agenda of organized groups is easier than ever before. Things will change for the better. The human spirit was never meant to be crushed.
