  • Henry Miller says in his book Nexus that the Poem of Ecstasy is like a bath of ice, cocaine, and rainbows, I believe..

  • Dark ecstasy! Scriabin is indeed a scary genius...

  • scriabin not only had perfect pitch but saw colors when he heard notes i have this same affliction and i am not on any special drugs maybe i should try some i cant imagine how great that would be

  • Just had a surreal dream, I was at home, looking out of the window, and the clouds and sky were all weird... some mad scientist was manipulating the weather to bring forth the apocalypse, what do I know.

Dozens of small smoke clots arranged in a grid of sorts, then the sun came and gave it all an ethereal lighting, then it all turned into a menacing storm with fog all over the ground... and then back.

And I remarked to someone that the Poem of Ecstasy would fit the scenery really well.. lol.

Heh, must be the painting then :)

  • @twooffour I thought I was the only one who thought that!

Is it just me, or does the picture seem to portray a horse battle, a naval battle (ships with masts and sails), and random semi-faces, but when you actually look at it, none of those is there?

Quite awesome if so, also fits the music (a tale of heroism, chaos and nightmare, but all "implied" and intangible).

Just listened to that - I prefer this one.

Ashkenazy is not a grand conductor.

  • @bach2984
