The band in this record it doesn't sound to me like the one reported in Rust's "Jazz Records" discography -- also, the trumpet player doesn't have the phrasing nor the tone of Alfie Noakes so I assume it's Arthur Wilson.
Vocals by Peter Bernard.

  • Great sound for such an early electrical recording !

  • @iainr222

trying to get the best from a V+/E- copy, however you can notice distortion in loud passages, this is due to the steel needles and heavy sound box damaging teh groove walls...

  • Oh WoW! This side's got the lot! Even the famous back-announcer, who only appears on a few Winer sides. Fabulous.

  • @muscleco

  • That announcer was terribly Edwardian sounding! Might have been one of the Edison non-band vocalists who were always hanging around the Peckham studio.. Alfredo's outfit got a lot more jazzy when Noakes joined the crew..

  • @centurygirl1 yes, thanx to Viagra....

  • Exciting music and photos! Hope YouTube lets it stay up for awhile.
