Actually what they're playing is Yankadi/Makru. The faster part is Makru. They are usually played back and forth this way. It's really nice to see the dance that goes with this.

This is Baba from Ghana at Camden Market - sadly this particular spot is now closed - I believe they are playing Nankiri, then it goes into Kuku...?

hey u ppl in london, why dont u get together wid the punjabis there, i want to hear some dhol-djembe collabos. esp sufi dhol style like pappu saeen, look him up on youtube, its explosive stuff, i cant imagine pairing up desi and african rhythms
