Picked this up from the Sportsman's Guide when I put in my order for some ammo. Leather was dry and very stiff upon receipt. I used some Lexol leather conditioner, and some Obenauf's waxy treatment to help soften the leather up and preserve it so it's not so dry. It looks like this thing sat around for years and years and never got used. The largest the holes will go to is probably about a 40 inch waist or so, but there's still a little more wiggle room to add your own holes if necessary.

After getting it all cleaned up, it really does look nice. I know I have my Hungarian pistol belt and I think I will also add some of the leather conditioner to it as well just to help keep it in good shape.

  • Which Obenauf product did you use... The leather oil, or the heavy duty LP?

  • @lvforbb The LP.

  • What was your approach to clean up leather, canvas, etc... I have quite a few of those MN 91/30 ammo pouches that have that damp smell.. I have seen everything regular soap to saddle soap to tea bags, etc...do you just leave it outside and let it air out in the sun and wipe it down with something?

  • @vboyanich Just using the products in the description to go over it and help soften it up. Using it will help get it limbered up too. I'll have to find something to fit in it!

  • This is so-called "NAVY holster". ЛПКО means Ленинградское Производственное Кожевенное Объединение (Leningrad Industrial Leather Association).

  • @HiddenF0X Oh very cool. I have a very nice Russian Navy coat that will go with this then. I bought the coat when I was in St. Petersburg a few years back! Thanks for the info!

  • Very cool. I haven't ordered anything from Sportsman's Guide in a long time. I've picked up some very cool Mil-Surp stuff from them in the past. German Fleck camo rain suit, a Czech scout bag, some other stuff I don't remember right off, but good stuff.

  • @ChuKoNu1 Ok well that would make sense too then. Thanks for the info!

  • Happy Halloween
