I'm going surfing around there in a few months..IMHO one less big shark is good for me...BTW..they cut the fins off separately but if you look around 1min from end they used the rest as well...dont blame them...blame the chinese for their weird tastes

What a waste of meat...Lived on the beach for years and we ate every shark that we would catch...Some of the best meat out there. For people who don't have a lot of meat in their diet it's a shame that they WASTE so much.

That was a huge Tiger Shark and also it was pregnant. BUT, at the end of the day its a choice between poverty or feeding family, lets not fool ourselves with out sanctimonious sense of being civilized if we were in their shoes we would be doing the same.

BTW, I am a shark fan and all for protecting sharks.

As much as it offends me to watch this I realize that the people doing this are only partially to blame. These people are poor and are capitalizing on a market created by mainly more affluent Chinese consumers willing to pay up to $400USD per lb just to put this flavourless ingredient in soup as a form of traditionalized conspicuous consumption at weddings. As long as there is a market there will be people trying to cash in on it. What we need is a worldwide ban on shark fin products.
